FC Kaimosi: Building a Legacy in Kenyan Football

From humble beginnings to a force to be reckoned with

Kaimosi is on the Rise

In the heart of Western Kenya, where the rolling hills meet the vibrant green of tea plantations, lies a football club that is quietly making a name for itself. FC Kaimosi Friends College, founded in 2004, has risen through the ranks of Kenyan football with determination and passion, becoming a force to be reckoned with.

The club's journey began on the dusty grounds of Kaimosi Friends College, a Quaker institution known for its academic excellence. With limited resources and a shoestring budget, a group of passionate students and local enthusiasts came together to form a football team that would represent their school and community. Little did they know that this humble beginning would lay the foundation for a club that would one day make its mark on Kenyan football history.

The Friends College Pitch, where the club played its early matches, was a far cry from the modern stadiums that host top-flight football in Kenya today. The pitch was uneven, the goalposts rickety, and the stands were nothing more than wooden benches. But for the players of FC Kaimosi, it was a place where dreams took flight.

Under the guidance of dedicated coaches and the unwavering support of the local community, FC Kaimosi began to make waves in local tournaments. Word of their talent and determination spread throughout the region, and soon they were invited to compete in higher-level competitions.

In 2010, FC Kaimosi made history by winning the Western Province Provincial League, earning promotion to the FKF Division One League the second tier of Kenyan football. It was a watershed moment for the club, and it signaled their arrival as a serious force in the country's football landscape.

The transition to Division One was not without its challenges. FC Kaimosi found themselves competing against well-established clubs with larger budgets and more experienced players. But the team refused to be intimidated. They played with heart and determination, and they quickly proved that they belonged in the top tier of Kenyan football.
