Celtics Take Game 1 in Dominant Fashion

Mavericks Struggle to Keep Up

Jayson Tatum Leads Boston to Victory

Boston, MA - The Boston Celtics took a commanding 1-0 lead over the Dallas Mavericks in their first-round playoff series on Wednesday night, defeating them 107-89.

Kristaps Porzingis made his return from a calf injury, but it was Jayson Tatum who led the way for the Celtics with 25 points. Marcus Smart added 20 points and Jaylen Brown chipped in with 19. Luka Dončić scored 23 points for the Mavericks, but it wasn't enough to overcome Boston's dominant performance.

The Celtics jumped out to a quick lead in the first quarter and never looked back. They led by as many as 25 points in the third quarter and were never seriously threatened by the Mavericks.

The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host Game 2 on Friday night.
